Pre-Arrivals

Embrea is a large detached house situated on the Devizes side of Rowde Village on the A342 Devizes to Chippenham road. Superb views of Roundway downs are to the front with no immediate neighbouring properties over looking and surrounded on three sides by open countryside. The property was completely and sympathetically renovated in 2007 to provide clean and comfortable accommodation.

There is a reflective sign outside the property containing the telephone number. A Bus Stop is immediately outside the property, being serviced by Bus 33 between Devizes/Calne/Chippenham with the nearest Railway Station being at Chippenham. Devizes town centre is approximately 1 mile (25 minutes walk for an average person). Several taxi firms operate locally and details can be provided on request.

Due to guest bedrooms being on the first floor, people with limited mobility may find it difficult to gain access.

We operate a no smoking policy within the house.

Arrivals and Car Parking

We have a large off-road parking area which is level and tarmac covered with Security lights operating at night. Assistance with luggage is available if required. Secure cycle storage is available on request. Check in is normally between 2pm and 7pm and it would be appreciated if you could advise us if it is going to be later than 7pm. Earlier access to your room can be arranged on request. Departure is usually about 10am but again, later times can usually be arranged.

Main Entrance

A porch is located at the front of the building. Please ring the bell located to left of door. There is approximately a 24cm step into the porch

Guest Dining and Lounge Areas

There is a hallway into the house and the guest dining/lounge areas are located at the rear of the hallway and through the door to the right. Embrea is carpeted throughout apart from the dining area, bathroom and en-suites which have vinyl flooring (for hygiene purposes). Guests are welcome to bring food into Embrea but we request that it is eaten in the dining room and plates, cutlery. will be provided.

The dining room can cater for six people on one large table or up to three separate tables if preferred. There are limited carver chairs available if requested. We are flexible on times for serving breakfast but normal serving is between 7am-9am weekdays and 7am-10am weekends.

The lounge area contains two settees for your comfort and has a flat screen TV with freeview plus DVD/VHS combo player. A Playstation 2 is available for childrens entertainment on request

Guest Bedrooms

The bedrooms are all located on the first floor and the stairway contains thirteen steps 24cm x 18cm. There is a stair hand rail on the left (going up). At the top of the stairs, turn left to landing area for all guest bedrooms.

Roundway View Room

This is a twin bedded room containing two x 3ft single beds, built in wardrobe, dresser with mirror, tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water. There is a flat screen remote controlled TV and a hair dryer. This room has a private bathroom located left out of door onto the landing and on right of hallway and contains, bath, shower, basin with mirror and shaving plug point and light, toilet and heated towel rail.

Lakeside View Room

This room contains a double bed plus double sofa bed, flat screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, hair dryer, etc. The en-suite contains heated towel rail, toilet, hand basin, mirror with shaving plug point and light. The shower is thermostatically controlled pressurized water system and the shower base is 900x900 with sliding glass doors.

Orchard View Room

This room contains a double bed, remote control TV, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, etc. The en-suite contains heated towel rail, toilet, hand basin, mirror with shaving plug point and light. The shower is thermostatically controlled pressurized water system and the shower base is 900x900 with sliding glass doors.

Additional Information

All windows in Embrea are fitted UPVC double glazed 2007 to Building/Fire control specifications. All guest rooms and communal areas are fitted with mains linked (battery back up) smoke/heat alarms. Fire extinguishers are located on the first floor and inside the front entrance hall. All persons should leave the building on hearing alarms. The building can be evacuated through the front door, the door from the dining room to the rear garden or the back door located through the kitchen.

The property is fully centrally heated throughout via an oil fired boiler. All rooms have thermostat controlled radiators for guest comfort

Smoking is not permitted in the building but guests are welcome to smoke in the garden areas.

Garden

The garden and patio area are to the rear of the property and we invite guests to enjoy the outlook of the open countryside. Garden games such as boules, lawn darts and swingball are available on request and a barbeque for the use of guests (charcoal provided at cost).

General

We are unable to accommodate pets although guide dogs are of course welcome.

Wireless internet is provided and is 100% free whilst staying at Embrea.
